The eye examination is divided into different steps.

Medical History

At reception, a patient is asked for personal information of a general and ophthalmic nature.

General Eye examination

This takes place after the essential diagnostic tests and is divided into a series of further tests and clinical observations:

  • Biomicroscopy
  • Tonometry (Measurement of ocular pressure)
  • Autorefractometry
  • Natural and corrected visual acuity
  • Cyclopegia

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR EYE EXAMINATION

Orthoptic examination

This is a clinical and diagnostic assessment of ocular motility, fusional vergence, stereopsis, and of binocular vision. A more in-depth examination of these aspects of visual function is essential in the treatment of children and adolescents, and is of great importance in adult patients.
